Well too be honest I wasn't that big a fan of D Howard going to the Rox (really think Asik could give us 80% of Howard at half the price), but now that he's (hopefully) here I'm rooting for him. Congrats to D Howard for being the first franchise guy to walk away from the Lakers and turn down a max contract from them (hah!). Even better, if Dwight really did turn down the Lakers and went to Houston then that means he's serious about winning. Regarding Josh Smith, I hope to hell they were just keeping him around as plan B. Pairing him with Asik would have given us the best front court in the league...having him as a big 3 doesn't excite me at all, it would mean losing Parsons and pretty much all of our depth/youth. Downside to this though is all the Rockets bandwagon fans migrating all the way to clutchfans. And you thought the LOFs were bad

Sweet. Dwight Howard may be a childlike narcissist...but he's a fantastic player, and I think people have forgotten that a bit. Last year, he was elite despite recovering from back surgery, placed in a system that did not suit his skillset. There's virtually no downside to a 4-year contract to a 27-year old superstar center. Great day for the Rockets.

My favorite player on the Rockets! Chandler, thanks for tirelessly working to convince Dwight that Houston was where he needed to be. You just might have made the difference. Congratulations to us all! We are now well and truly contenders, something I thought would take years of going down a long, dark road. Yes, Daryl Morey deserves Executive of the Year, and Les Alexander deserves to be Owner of the Year, if they have such an award. The Rockets are BACK! FIRE BROUSSARD!!
I can't believe we landed Howard and got rid of Royce in the same day. It's like picking up the hottest chick in the club and she asks if she can bring her friend home to join in as well.
