What a horrible draft, Aaron Brooks? "Who?"

We have three point guards, One who can't shoot, another who can't pass, and a third who's shorter than me.

We have a MAX making "superstar" with a bad back....

Guys this team ain't going anywhere anytime soon. Morey should be fired, get someone with some experience.

What's wrong with it? This pick seems like a waste to me. The Rockets are already full of undersized point guards. The team's biggest needs for a big man who can rebound and defend haven't been answered yet. Unless the management makes some sort of trade or sign a quality big FA, the team will be in the same spot as last year.

I forgot to add, we don't have a PF. Hayes is a scrub who belongs in the D league...okay okay, he's a decent guy to have off the bench, but no way in hell is he supposed to be getting more than 7-12 minutes a game.

He's Undersized, he cant Run a offense. cant finish around the Rim due to he's lack of size and is a terrible decsion maker. ... great 26 th pick wtf are the rockets thinking?. this is another JL111. OR EVEN A SHORTER VERSION OF RAFER.

I don't know. It seemed to me that Rafer could penetrate, but he couldn't finish or hit an open shot to save his life.

I'm OK with the pick once Williams, Fernandez, and Almond were selected I was not happy with what was left. A game changing fireball is what this team lacked. If he can be anything like Bobby Jax, Darrell Armstrong, or even Earl Boykins it will all be worth it. We'll get our Power Forward through trade have a little faith. :D

Well they shouldn't be. They set new standards for ineptitude with their annual draft embarrassments.

Funny, I googled Aaron Brooks just to get some more info on him and came across this Spurs message board talking about him:

    http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71764&page=3

    One sample...

"I had the opportunity to watch Brooks for 4 years, while playing in Eugene. He is a very tough kid, capable of taking over games at the end and making clutch shots. (He had several last second/minute winning shots during the past season, and basically willed the team to victory on many occasions.) He is very very fast and has the potential to be a very good defender (his wingspan is about 6' 4" I believe). He also rebounds very well. He can almost always beat his man to the basket, but sometimes gets out of control and/or drives into traffic. When he doesn't, he's a good finisher. And he should have been player of the year in the Pac10 last season."

I am much calm now. I wish someone can ask Mor*n some question:
    1) Can he defend Deron Williams?
    2) He is fast, but who he is going to running together with?
    3) Are they secretely planning trading Yao?

This cat is good, and I hear he would've gone to Phoenix had we not selected him.

Brooks is one hell of a shooter. In terms of efficiency, he's top notch and has unbelievable speed.

You know those teams with quick guards that give us trouble, well guess what?

We have a counteract to that. I'm impressed with the team's faith in Adelman, yet stunned at the same time at move we should've been more pissed off at.

We acquired the 31st pick to get Landry, please! We should've gotten Byars or McRoberts or Big Baby. Though I hear we were targeting Landry with the 54th pick, not knowing he'd go #31. We traded a future 2nd + cash for the 31st pick...that's awfully cheap.

I'm very uneasy about this, but this opens up a trade of Head/Alston for a PF. And I'm telling you Brooks is the type of PG that can cause problems for other teams with his ability to shoot, you have to respect it, and his speed that he'll cause problems...it's just that the finishing ability in college is nothing like the NBA so he'll have to continue to work on that.

Don't get mad if you don't know about the players we draft. Sure I'm not a fan of the Brooks choice but it's not because I don't know who he is. Don't hate on the rockets just because you don't follow college basketball.

alot of these we drafted a point guard when we already had point guards talk reminds me of when we got luther head. i dont think we can say anything until we see this kid play. if he's awesome, i see alot of ppl having to eat crow. i personally am optimistic about all of our picks until we can actually see any proff of them being bad players. morey got us 3 players today, most of us know nothing about but are already badmouthing. there is still time to fill up the roster and i guess most people can be happy that both rafer and vspan are probaly going out the door.
