i was a little pissed after the pick too but after i calmed down....looked at some vids and stuff, brooks looked reallyy good....the pick looked real bad to everybody because of our gaping holes that we didnt seem to fill out. But that will all come after some trades, after some trades are done to dump off some guards and get some athletic big men...a lot more people are going to be satisfiedd with brooks. This is not the end.....i wanna Brooks jersey btw :D

i personally like this trade. i think many people will have to eat their words when everything is said and done... i dont know if you guys remember, this guy won the ncaa 3 point championship. so he can shoot, is a good leader, and clutch. last time i checked, these are all of the ingredients we need in a pg.

i think we can all agree that alston, head, vspan, JL3 and james are absolutely not our pgs of the future. either they are too old, dont have the skill, or just dont fit.

looks like we took the best player available. Morey didnt say he was going to take the best prospect, but the best player available. this guy is proven, so it honestly is a much lower risk than a Davis or Splitter. Also, he must have really killed it in the workouts.

We definately need to make some moves though obviously, but i like him as our starting pg in a year or two.

If the two picks turn out to be bad, we need to draft a new GM next year before the draft.

I feel sad for Rockets. So many things they will HAVE TO do before the next season. And I don't think it's good for the coming trades that everybody knows what the Rockets have and want.

I just watched a slew of Youtube vids on AB & for the most part, I like what I saw. He has a real Acie Law look to him. Id much rather have Law (Who wouldnt?), but I think Im okay with this guy as our PG of the future. Let me put it this way: Im good with the pick, depending on what we do with trades/Free agency...

Why do people, including the media, keep saying that we have too many guards and not enough big men blah blah blah? Morey repeatedly said that they were not drafting for need, period. They were going to address needs by trade or FA, and I totally agree with this approach.

So stop complaining about not drafting a PF. If you want to complain, complain about Brooks not being the best player available at #26.

I am holding my judgment at this point and see how Brooks turns out. Remember when we took Luther Head, a lot of people were like "what the...?" Head turns out fine for a late 1st rounder. Give that kid a chance to show what he has.

I don't really know this guy. But from the videos I've seen so far, he reminds me of Allen Iverson (not comparing talent). Hopefully, he likes practice. :D

Too bad he will never be on the floor in a clutch situation.

Don't pretend to be prescient, Ziggy. You know what happened last time you tried to predict the future...

    *Cue disastrous flashback*

Yeah... because good players in college are never good in the NBA.

    Nice logic, pepper.

Well lets just say... If Brooks is in during a clutch situation. And actually gets the ball (rather than Yao or Mac) then the Rockets have some serious problems. I do like Brooks though. Just don't see how he fits with James here.
