the 2011 pick is a "right to swap," so worst cast scenario is they keep their own pick.

The article says we have a pair of picks in 2011 and 2012, but I thought we were just swapping picks in 2012?

I can't believe we got Kevin Martin -- it's still sinking in... wow.

no doubt. it's not as if we would lose our 2011 pick, however #6 will likely be higher than wherever we finish (hopefully mid 20s).

r2k saying 2012 gets pushed back to the next year, rich lord saying it's gone... conflicting answers

I got my info from Bima, who I trust on issues like this FAR more than Rich Lord.

I know one thing....we dont forfeit the pick if the protection kicks in...it gets pushed back...thats the way every other pick protection plan I have ever heard about has worked....normally with decreasing amounts of protection as each year passes.

How does Morey keep making these high-reward/low-risk moves? I love Landry madly, but he's by far the most replacable piece next year when Yao's back, especially when Jordon Hill could potentially replace him a bit.

Considering how little we gave up, and how big our potential returns could be both short term and long term...

    Morey is a GENIUS!

I hope now that nate robinson is also gone that the knicks go only a very long losing streak.

I got 2 words to say: John Wall

we dont have the Knicks pick this year, its next year.

Knicks pick this year is to UTAH. I don't want UTAH getting John Wall :(

this deal should be used in a business class on how to go through a weak market and crush competition.

One of the awesome things about this trade is that after next year, we might have cap room to sign another free agent star. Not likely, but not out of the realm of possibility.

rightfully so, i'm don't trust rich lord to hold my lunch, much less should i trust his comments on the trade.

i believe a scenario you could point to would be darko and the pistons???

nobody has explain to me about this draft picks that we aquire from NY...do we get #2 second over all in 2011 and #6 pick in 2012? how you know we getting this number 2,1,3,5,6 blah blah blah...
does it depends how the NY do in 2011 and 2012?

Next summer should be interesting with Jeffries, Battier, and Yao expiring. Hopefully Yao will resign for a discount and we might have some money available? Maybe?

    WORST-CASE SCENARIO.
*Kevin Martin does not pan out, which means Kings get the better end of the deal in Landry.
*J.Hill is a complete bust...also meaning the loss of Landry hurts more.
*Knicks get some help and those picks go late (Even still Morey has done well with picking late...)

EVEN STILL, This team would still be a playoff team with the worst case scenario...

    BEST-CASE SCENARIO
*Kevin Martin works out great, finally providing the scoring we need from the Spot and going alongside Brooks or Lowry will be scary for opposing teams with Yao down low.
*J.Hill reaches his potential...which is either 15ppg and 6-7rpg OR what some predicted to be Chris Bosh...very scary.
*Knicks continue to suck meaning we also draft some young stud...

What is the chance that all 3 aspects of the trade fail?

We have the right to swap with Ny next year. So if we have pick 23 and they have pick 12 we can switch. If they get pick #1 they get to keep it. If they get pick #2 Morey needs a statue outside of Toyota Center.

In 2012 we just get their pick as long as it's not 1-5. So we hope it will be #6.
