Because they are haters. Those "fans" love the idea of trading Harden even for lesser players because it fits their personal agendas. Any trade for Harden will NOT be of equal OR even fair value. Rockets would go from contenders to bottom 8 of not out of the playoffs entirely OVERNIGHT. What real Rockets fans want their team to get WORSE?

I hear you and agree with you partly. However if we were true CONTENDERS as you so eloquently put it, our star player wouldn’t be asking to leave to go to a...wait for it.....”contending” team. ...the relationship is fractured; it quite frankly may not be salvageable. We all know you don’t get greater value when trading a talent like 13; but you get as close to equal compensation as possible (which they can do with the right package of young talent and picks) especially since it’s evident he wants out. you’re never in truly rebuild mode given the roster we have; it’s a retool mode.
I agree with this post so much. We all know what Harden brings to the table, nobody here is saying Harden is not a superstar. But sometimes people just check out, they get bored, want a change of scenery, whatever the case might be. A lot of us knew that there would probably be a day when Harden departed the Rockets on his own accord, we just are coming closer to that inevitable day. But on the bright side of things Harden did just average almost 35 ppg for us last year, is only 31 years old, and last I checked Giannis is no longer available via free agency. So all of those things are to our advantage. And if Denver is really offering Murray and picks then to me that really helps lessen the blow of losing Harden if we can complete that trade. Christian Wood looks great, Wall looks as fast as ever, and Boogie is in the best shape that I've seen him in awhile. So IMO the future is very bright for our Houston Rockets.
