I saw it, and I think Larry was covering himself and the Pistons. I trust Clutch and his sources, if he says that the Rockets have had an offer on the table for Brown since last week, then I believe it. Brown isn't going to say anything that makes him, or his future employers(Pistons) look bad. The one thing I'm happy about is that the Rockets didn't make their offer to Brown and stop interviewing. I'm glad they are at least somewhat prepared and continued interviewing coaches. Furthermore it looks like Brown may have had contact with the Pistons prior to them firing Carlisle, and possibly prior to the Rockets interview. If that's how Brown likes to the game, then maybe we don't want him on the team. I was hoping for Brown, because I think he can get the players disciplined on the court. But I won't cry and shout because we didn't get a guy who's a vagabond, a bandaid, a quickfix, and then have to find somebody else in a few years.
nice thread, drewdog (by the way, i remember having a garbage pail kid card called "drew blood". kinda cool). yeah... i'm tired of this "coaching carousel" nonsense also... it's almost like the whole "weapons of mass destruction" thingee all over again. IRRITATING!!! i want it over with... NOW!!!
I agreed that Larry Brown has something to do with firing of Piston's "coach of the year" Rick Carlisle. I seriously question Larry Brown's integrity after the stinking firing thing happen in Detroit. What kind of coach of right mind would go to Detroit right after they fired their own coach of the year that's doing great job despite the talents they had? Especially it's obvious that he is forcing someone out of a job that that person clearly deserved.
