None of the games matter until medal round matchups against Spain or Brazil. Then we'll see how big the gap is when things aren't loose and free-flowing and every possession counts.
no kidding. 26 fouls on each team in only a 40 minute game. westbrook and williams continue to suck. kobe still not afraid to force shots. lebron and durant with really nice games. that fullcourt bounce pass + 3 point play was ridiculous.
Lebron's game has actually improved after winning the NBA finals. The Heat are gonnna be scary next season.
It was a blowout at the end, but I'm starting to wonder whether or not USA can really win gold this year. Sloppy as hell.
I was actually encouraged by the game remember, France is no pushover -- they may medal our guard play from Westbrook and Williams needs to improve, but the rest of our team looked good. Teams with bigs will push us the most, probably. Brazil and Spain, but even then, I think we'll crush them
Well that's the point-- I'm worried about Spain just manhandling us and USA losing their poise. Brazil too. But after China freaking pushed Spain today, I felt a little bit better.
Don't read much into this game. Les Blues can't shoot 3s, don't run the PnR all that well, don't pass the ball enough to make Team USA work hard on defense and didn't have size to pound the offensive glass. Those are the four keys to beating them. I think we'll win gold but today didn't show me anything. If this squad crushes Spain and Brazil in the medal round, comparing them to 1992 is legitimate. I will be very surprised if France wins a medal.
Last time I checked we've been beaten many times in international competition (including the World Championships) since 1992 and Spain only lost to us by 4 in 2008 in the gold medal game.
Women's basketball is a completely waste of time... Seriously Angola??? There's no competition.. Get rid of Women's basketball and replace it with something else...
