It isn't just that.
From watching the games this season, I think it can generally be said that he has made very poor decisions regarding his rotation. It seems that he makes some substitutions at the most inopportune times possible...
I will agree with you on that. He tends to take guys out while they are hot and he also tends to not substitute players when the team is in a clear funk for about 5 minutes. Something is going to have to give with this team. Just heard someone Ra said he's frustrated and has no answers right now. That isn't good news.
Stop..
Seriously, the T-Mac hate is getting out of hand.
Let me ask you oh wise one. Does Ron Artest even take part in any part of what is supposed to be Rick Adelman's offense?? It seems just awesome whenever he makes a play out there...
Right, that is exactly what I am saying. The players may suck, but he's definitely not helping..
If you are the manager, your team are all under performed, that is definitely your problem, not your reports problem! Almost everybody in this team are sucks, that is Coach's problem, period.
If Artest refuses to play the offense, ship him out. But he's been here for half a season. I'd say it's basic fairness that he gets some time to try and fit in. T-Mac's got all of last season in addition to half of this one and he's a ball stopper. His teammates are confronting him and telling him he needs to get his act together. Adelman and Morey are having private sit down sessions with him. The guy's a cancer and needs to be moved. After that you can start running the timer for Adelman to achieve something.
Exactly, how can you take your most efficient player for the game out with half the 3rd quarter remaining, and never put him back into the game???
Not to mention the complete lack of shot attempts that he had when it was clear that he was the only one capable of putting pressure on the opposite team
there is something very, very wrong with this team, and it is at the management level...
but the coach's bad decision that wrong time to put on wrong player make it much worse look at what they r doing on the court offend sucker than jvg system, deffend much sucker than jvg what the f@@k going on ,i hate it more than ever
Rick is a great coach, but I agree, he isn't the best fit for this team. Hopefully he can tweak his coaching method to better suit this team. We need to see more shots for our big 3, and less for the roleplayers. When Tmac & Yao are out there, ONE of them must touch the ball during each and every offensive possession. I saw several times today where the ball was rotated away from Yao & Tmac. Outright dumb.
Terrific plan! Let's trade all three of our superstars (since they are all "ball stoppers") to accommodate our coach!
Seriously, the organization (management, players, etc..) have been confronting McGrady because of his health/effort. NOT BECAUSE OF THE WAY HE PLAYS IN THE OFFENSE (which by the way is the issue at hand)
Oh really?? Well he sure wasn't a cancer when he: Carried this team against Dallas during the playoffs Carried this team when Yao went down (oh how many times..) Carried this team against the Jazz two years ago Carried this team during the 22 win streak Carried this team against the Jazz last year..
Oh how ye with selective memory quickly write him off when he's obviously hurting (regardless of how)
However, even that is irrelevant
For the most part, you bring in a coach who can maximize the talents of your players, something Adelman does not do for us. Very rarely in the pro's do you bring in talent that fits the system of the coach (Sloan, Poppovich)
I don't doubt that Adelman has the knowledge of how to make any team great.... but just like how players get when they lose some physical abilities, I don't know if he has the "passion" or "drive" to try to find what it takes to turn this team on. Last year, this team rallied around its defense and came together to win all those games. T-mac was effective, Rafer played great, and Mutombo provided a great interior force that until proven otherwise, has just as big of an impact as Yao on the offensive end. You all know how I feel about the initial decision to hire Adelman... based on the premise trying to turn a relatively unathletic low-post team into an "uptempo" one. We all know that will never happen (T-mac or not) because you basically neutralize this team's biggest asset (Yao in the low post). Without Yao dominating in the low post, this team is nothing special. In fact, they're not even a playoff team. Yao needs to be scoring 26+ ppg at this stage of his career, and the dearth of centers who can actually match up with him. He needs to dominate night-in and night-out.... and have a coach/game plan that puts him the position to do so (which with or without t-mac, Adelman's system does not do).
agreed, every single word. i remember reading articles on the chron when they decided to let go of jvg, whom i thought deserved another year at least, and hired adelman. les and a rookie morey went to adelman's house and they had a long conversation for a whole afternoon. i think it must be something adelman presented that afternoon got him the job. i'm curious to know what adelman said back then in terms of his philosophy in how to build and develop the team.
We already went through this same "RA sucks" BS last season when we were losing 6 straight with a poorer record and a healthier squad. Wake me up when we get to 7 straight.
Frankly speaking, I give no credit for Adelman's defense. I am sorry to say a team without defense can't go far. BTW, can we be in the playoff ?
