Sabonis is what we wish Sengun was/could become.

Massively underrated.

 

They are in different stages in their respective careers... one may turn out to be Arvydas and the other may turn out to be Ilguaskas when it is all said and done.

 

lmao it's not even comparable. Sabonis is legit. Sengun is still a work in progress.

 

One is a drafted, home-grown, Houston Rocket (The 2 seed). Also the Houston Rockets leader in plus/minus.

I've said before in numerous baby Jokic comparisons that Sengun needs to first show he's better than Sabonis before he deserves the Jokic comp. Suffice to say that opinion was not received well for the most part. TBF I think there is a case that Sengun is a more well-rounded player than Sabonis, but his dip in efficiency this year is hindering him from reaching that bonafide All-Star level of player to get above a guy like Sabonis.

 

Yall watched that game and though Sabonis out played Alpi? Alpi literally fouled him and took him to the hole over and over again.

Brooks got absolutely torched by Derozan and the refs absolutely robbed us

I don't really see Sengun doubled that much either. If anything Jalen gets doubled way more than him. If anything teams are daring him to shoot more and he's not really shown to be able to.

 

Last I looked Alperen was the 18th was doubled player in the NBA.

Bro, have you watched any Rockets basketball this year? Any Udoka press conference? Any Alperen press conference? DB? Opposing coaches?

The Rockets have been trying to figure out the Alperen double all damn year, and have been doing a way better job, including JG. Alperen has talked about his struggles with it ad nauseam.
