Gibbs/Saunders must have seen that coming from a mile away. You know how risky it is to run a draw play, even if its somewhat successful, with only 9 seconds left in the half? They KNEW there was going to be a TD on that play. They KNEW that they would easily block Ryans and the other LB's, and no secondary player would be within 5 yards of Portis. They KNEW all this way before that ball was snapped... THAT is what scares me the most about how much this team still has to improve in both talent acquisition and execution/coaching.
Another Pathetic Performance. How much longer can Texans fans take the pain? Our defense looks like swiss cheese. Who the hell is Mario Williams??? It is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hard to watch this team weak-in and weak-out...
How many teams can still score after getting two, or three holding penalties on the same drive? Just pathetic.
What's the point... teams will just continue to do what the Redskins did today. Let the defensive line come through with all the pressure they want... and execute the draws/screen passes. Then, when the defense plays it safe, just pick out the one WR who's being covered by a below-average DB. This is like Hubie Brown implementing the fronting Yao defense... this game-plan will be passed around all over the league, to weak offensive teams like the Redskins.
When they score a TD, they can entertain that. Also, while Miami is better than any of them, no team looks more dissapointing... it looks like they still haven't recovered from that Steelers game 2 weeks ago.
I happen to think this is the worst defense in team history. NO pressure on the QB NO tackles for losses NO takeaways NO tipped passes PISS-POOR Defense on 3rd downs NOTNING!!! HORRIBLE...ABSOLUTLEY HORRIBLE!!!!! Mario and the Texans SUCK!!!!!
Washington doing everything in its power to lose this game but the Texans just are not having it. Rocket River
I swear that our DB's think the ONLY role of pass defense is to tackle the opposition AFTER they make the catch. No point in trying to get a hand in there and deflect the ball right?
We absolutely have to come out and score a TD on the opening possesion. With a 21-7 lead, Gibbs and the Skins are gonna pound Portis and try to milk the clock. The defense is nothing short of pathetic. I still think the offense looks good, especially Carr, when we get a running game, I think they'll really put it together, along with the oline improving together. I'm not worried about the offense, but this defense is surprisingly bad, I'm beginning to wonder about Richard Smith as defensive coordinator..
