The Texans OLB's aren't providing any sort of containment for those sweeps.

Looking at ESPN.com, Mario has more tackles in the first quarter today than he has had in any other game. Is his play reflecting that?

He has played pretty well with the exception of that one play where the TE got him.

Our D coordinator sucks. Bring back Fangio.

The Redskins are either running away from him, or shovel-passing past him. He got blocked on the TD run, but there was still nobody on the other side able to contain the run.

Brunell hasn't had to drop back many times today, so you can't evaluate whether or not this defense is pressuring the QB. Its a pretty good game-plan by Gibbs, especially if the Texans don't have anybody on the outside corners (linebackers, good tackling DB's) that can read run, and stop the outside sweeps/swing passes.

Join the club, I am 125 miles out and I am watching the Bears too. The Texans may be bad, but at least they could have given them a few more weeks to prove it. Starting out against two playoff teams is not a fair test. I wonder if they are going to be blacked out the rest of the season no matter how they play?

Nick explained it. No time to sack him. I haven't seen any pass downfield from Brunell yet.

    Pretty funny pic.

The Redskins know that Brunell is a statue... thus they busted out the Texans 2003 playbook, featuring all dump-offs, short screens, WR-outs, and swing/shovel passes.

There hasn't been a play yet where Brunell has gotten to drop back and survey the field... and yet they've still scored 14 points. Pretty sad.

Why does it seem like we always start off well. Look great...then it looks like everything hits the fan and we can't do anything right? Just don't understand it.

I like the play-calling early. 1st and 2, and Carr gets a chance to go for a HR. The old regime would have ran that up the middle, and settled for "moving the chains."

Also, establishing the deep ball early will serve Dayne better.

DAMN. I like DAYNE. He's a TRUCK. He will get the Deadskin offense tired in NO TIME. There are always 3 to 4 deadskins needed to bring him down, unless he's on the sideline. Watch him break one for 50, then we get a short TD.

We're OK, everyone. Just keep cheering, please. No name-calling.

It looks like whenever teams just let Mario blow by them, they have something special set-up. The defense behind him has to realize that, and adjust.

    Big 3rd down here.
