Watch...Vince Young will start and CRUSH against our incredibly inept defense. What a disaster that would be.
Give him credit for looking downfield on a third down. That would have been a completion if not for the interference anyway.
I don't understand why this is so suprising to you? It was reason number one why the Texans couldn't go after the "sexy/dynamic" pick in Bush (which is really a luxury to have, only if the foundation of your team is in place). Even after they took Mario, they said their defense was still far away from being able to bring it every week. I really think you've been swindled by Texans PR if you think this team had that many salvageable parts... you can look for individual progress from Carr, the O-line, and Mario from game to game, but other than that don't be suprised if complete no-names perform terribly.
This season, I guess we can forget our offense disappearing in the 4th quarter. Hyuk hyuk. Too bad they wait until we're down over 20 points and the game is out of reach. Carr will still keep his high QB rating.
About the only thing I'd disagree with here is the special teams, specifically Chand Stanley and Kris Brown. They have always been solid for us (with the exception of the Brown's tankin job last season). In fact, if I'm not mistaken Stanley is one of the few pro bowlers we have on this team. I think our offense has problems, but through all the games this season, has shown the ability to score. Doesn't matter if the defense gives up 30+ a game. We could throw Peyton and Co. out there and still would lose.
I'm not talking about improving from worst to first. I was just thinking we could go from worst to maybe 22nd or 20th on defense. I wasn't expecting miracles. I was just thinking we could look like a pro football team, not a division II college team.
Damn, I forgot about Vince....he'll probably come in for his standard few plays, light up the Texans for one drive, stay in the game to complete the route. I guess it's Buffalo in week 11 then.
This team hasn't looked like a pro football team since their inception... and they just started addressing the things that should have been addressed in year one, not year 4. If people hadn't been fooled by 19-10, the seven win season, and the false confidence hype machine that the NFL can give people this all would have started earlier... Capers/Casserly ruined a franchise before it started, and that's getting proven week after week.
