what the hell, I turned the game off seems like 2 hours ago Astros were down 8 now they are only down 1 run? lol
agreed. only other person that has a case is dan uggla. 2nd base is really weak this season especially now that utley is injured.
Brandon Lyon felt upstaged by all the awful pitching tonight, so decided to show them how it's really done. Even in this crazy game, he manages to be the worst pitcher on show. Guy's horrific
Definitely not a fan of shuttling Jordan Lyles back and forth between Houston and OKC. Keep him in OKC until September.
Agreed. He's having a good year. When youre starting pitcher gives up 9 earned runs, you're not going to win any games... regardless of how your bullpen is. Mills has done a fantastic job with the bullpen this year... and when you have spotty starting pitching from 3/5ths of your rotation, its a good thing to have. I firmly believe that management of the bullpen is the single-most important job of any manager... its the one thing that their decision making process affects each and every game (more-so than in-game strategy, lineup decisions, and overall day-to-day tweaks/adjustments with hitters and pitchers).
So this is quite interesting: Matt Downs was optioned to make room for Lyles. The Astros have no one to play 1B! Looking at everyone on the roster, only Bogusevic and Gonzalez have any sort of time at 1B, and that time was only a handful of games and was in the minors.
He's not played 1 game there in the minors. The only guys on our roster that have any time at 1B, are Bogey, Gonzalez and Chris Johnson. All their time is from the minors though and only a handful of games. I would put my money on Bogey starting there today.
