I've been waiting for this for about a month now.

Moehler is dead weight, get Randolph back up here. Or, if they think McLemore is a better option as the 2nd lefty, wait 10 days & then get him back up here.

I'm no as down on OP as many here (he slumped early last year too, and came on like gangbusters down the stretch), and he's the 25th man for pete's sake. Josh Anderson is not a better alternative for that role. Mike Rodriguez is hurt and just not very good on top of that. So there's really no option on the farm.

But that's just minor stuff. They need a starting 3B and RF, pronto. Raul Ibanez? Mark Teahen? COME ON DOWN!!! Or a CFer & slide Pence to RF.

Are you f'in kidding me? Jeez, now we can't even stay in a game for 2 minutes. When did Rick White become a starter?

Why did Narron get tossed? Was he wanting to take some swings off of Wandy as well? Man, hello loss number 10... and the freaking Brewers lost AGAIN.

Lance joins the myriad of Astros batting under .250 ie. everyone in our lineup except Lee and Pence.

This losing streak is ridiculous. The Astros are making the Reds look like World Champs.

We can't score more than 1 run in ANY game.

It's sickening. This team is sickening.

Odds on us getting another base runner tonight?

Why even send Lane to pinch hit? Just let Wandy swing away...

These games are so brutal to watch. They asked Dreyton some questions in between innings and he's all happy giddy.... your team sucks man! Tell Purpura to get off his buttocks and start waiving the dead weight.

How do they fix this team? Guys like Ensberg, Scott and Lane have been around long enough and had enough shots for us to realize that this is who we thought they were (to get Denny Green on y'all)- lousy. Biggio's washed up. When you get down to it, the Astros only have three players who can produce in the line-up and the best hitter of the bunch, Berkman, is having his worst year. This sucks.

It is hard to watch them either pop it up or hit a routine ground ball.
Harang is throwing them right down the middle.
Finally Everett gets a grounder between someone! ;)

So what happens first, Gar gets fired or they turn the pitching/hitting coaches into scapegoats. The 'Stros got rid of Vern Ruhle and Tom McCraw before they fired Dierker.

Interesting things regarding Garner and losing streaks..

In 2002, as manager of the Tigers, Gar was fired after starting the season 0-6. After being replaced by Luis Pujols, the Tigers lost 5 more in a row before they won their first game. 11 game losing streak to start the season.

In 1994 the Brewers, managed by Gar, had a 14 game losing streak.

Anyone know the record for the most games lost in a row?

All time? 24 in the late 1800's by the Cleveland Spiders. It was most recently threatened in the early '60's. I can't remember who it was, but that streak reached 23.

    Astros record is 11.

This might be part of the problem ;)

6 of our 8 starting position players tonight are hitting below .250

    5 of 8 are hitting below .240

    PATHETIC

Most recently, the Royals lost 19 in a row in 2005. That was the longest losing streak since 1988 when the Orioles lost 21 in a row.

That one hitting between .240 and .250 is Lance. Berkman hasn't seen an increase in his batting average in almost 2 weeks. But at least that since he's now below .250, a single hit will likely change that.

He should be the FIRST dead weight we rid ourselves of.

Yeah, then maybe we could fire Sean Berry. Look at our players' averages.

Yeah, because firing the hitting coach has worked so well the last 2 times they tried.

It's on the players. And the GM to get better players.
