Well, if there's one bright spot, Brad Lidge looked freaking awesome that inning.

Not sure about Jennings, Nick. He was throwing 40-50 balls, not off the mound iirc, a few days ago.

He looked pretty good in the other 10-1 game he pitched in... of course, we were winning that one.

But at this point, "who's the closer?" is no longer the pertinent question on anybody's mind. Hell, when was the last time we had a save situation in the 9th inning?

He's looked good for his last few outings.

Who said anything about closer? Good Lidge > Bad Lidge. For a team that has holes to fill, the more assets, the better.

Stros must be frustrated, hitting 2 batters in a row

I'm glad Pence can get games like this to adjust... its really not fair to the kid to be put in this position as a "solution" to what's ailing the team, but if they can get him as many low-pressure AB's, he'll be better off.

I already used up my negative quota on the last page, when I said this team has zero sense of urgency.

They really don't... the only one I expect to have it right now is Roy (because he always has it), and he can't do it all every 4th day.

Ugh. Rockets need to go deep* because this eternal optimist's Astros beer mug is starting to look half empty.

you know its bad when you have to move up your ace to win the 2nd game so you have a small chance at winning the rubber game.

I just jinxed AE. He made an amazing play, I come on hear to post about it, and in the meantime makes an error. :)

Have all of his errors been on easy plays?

Pretty amazing he's got 5 errors so far and had 7 all of last year. But that play was sick so I can forgive him for the blunder on the easy play.

boy, this astros lineup is firing on all cylinders tonight.

3 straight innings with runners on, 3 straight innings not a ******* run

on a side-note, why are roy's K's down this year?

he used to strike out 22 a game, now it's just 2-3 on a good night.

i know he pounds the strike zone a lot, but he did that in the past with more K's....

he is trying to get quick outs, groundball outs. check out his ground ball to fly ball ratio this season, its significantly higher towards ground balls. he just wants to get deeper in games with less stress on his arm.
