My point is that, while the 98 team was exciting and fun to watch in the regular season, the 2004 and 2005 Astros were much better in the postseason when it counted most. Guys like Beltran and Berkman and Kent and Burke came through in the clutch; the 98 Astros didn't have anyone who stepped up. In the end, they had too many free swingers who couldn't lay off breaking pitches in the dirt, and couldn't hit with men on base.

you dont' judge a baseball team on 4 games. when you ask me who is the greatest astro team of all time, your criteria doesn't even enter my mind.

MadMax, I agree with you that the 98 team was great (my second favorite), but the 04 team had, Biggio, Bagwell, Kent, Berkman, Beltran, and Ensberg. That is a sick lineup. Plus, the pitching was Oswalt, Clemens, Pettitte (hurt) and Backe with Wheeler, Qualls, and Lidge making up the Bullpen. Dont forget to that Lidge was unhittable in those days. I just think head to head, the 04 team is better.
