i can deal with having him on the team... his D really is good. but please please please get rid of ausmus. put him on the bench, let him call the pitches from there.

no, no his d doesn't lol.

this entire boards been through that by now. his defense, yeah, it's great.

his bat, it's awful lol. you've gotta have some kind of balance from the other side and it just isn't there.

then again it wouldn't look quite as bad if we have some bats to cover up everett's horrendous batting averages, but we don't as of right now and right now he is indeed a giant black hole in the lineup.

then again though , if we didn't have ausmus it'd seem better too.

the point is we have oswalt pitching tonight who's roughly 120-0-1 (the tie ended after a penalty kick) against the reds.

Scary thought? The Astros actually put a crooked number? Wow, for Roy this is like 10-0 with an ordinary pitcher.

The Cards seemed to be pretty successful with the Wizard of Oz in the 80s. Won WS in 82 vs Harvey's Wallbangers and rarely if ever hit better than .250. His defense though of course, was legendary.

AE's defense DOES help to save our pitcher's bacon alot.

The problem is continuity on this lineup. Too many poor pitch selection hitters, too many easy outs in this lineup. AE is not the problem with this team.

Yay! I love this guy. AE is far from the sole problem with this team, ditto for Ausmus.

    Roy injured.... his shoulder?!?

    What else can go wrong.

edit: its muscle spasms in his neck... not as bad, but still worrisome.

I'm too lazy to look, but isn't Everett second on the team in RBIs?

He's tied with Ensberg for second with 55. Berkman has 122.

Didnt get to see the game tonite. What is the deal with Oswalt's injury? If he has any inclination of injury or risk of injury they need to shut him down and gear up for next year.

was muscle spasms in the neck i believe as nick said and later caught that bit in like the 7th/8th inning.

don't know how serious muscle spasms are, but my guess is it's not that big of a deal. nothing that a good needle can't fix anyway. :)

at least it's not a shoulder/groin injury though.

The AE debate is 100% relative. Of all the players on our team when you combine hitting and defense, AE is by far the best shortstop on this team and should be playing every day. Now if we had gone and got someone that can play a marginal SS and can hit really well, then I'd consider moving Everett a priority, but until we are able to get someone in like that, I would not even consider bumping AE for a guy that hits 40 points higher with no power. His defense is worth way more than that to me.
