So listening to Seattle sports radio yesterday on my drive home from work. The radio guy Bob Stelton is doing an around the MLB where he says what teams are in action that day. He goes through all the games and it’s pretty standard stuff where he just says the names of all the teams with no commentary. Until he gets to our game and he says “the Red Sox are taking on the hated Astros”. LOL.
The amusing part is we are the archenemy for them, and they are 4th or 5th on our "hated" list (Yankees, Dodgers, Rangers for sure above - Cubs/Cardinals for older fans). Classic little brother stuff.
We are the most hated team in the MLB outside of the Yankees and Dodgers. It's pretty obvious from reading every baseball forum or subreddit. Especially from AL teams since we've pretty much dominated since we hopped over. We were bad for 2 seasons, and then pretty much owned it. The Yankees only the hate the Red Sox more than they hate us.
Michael is a grounded, down to Earth dude. My guess is that as long as he has kids in the house he will be with them, using that wealth to have great family time and experiences, then he joins the coaching ranks when they are grown. My impression is that he's a family man AND baseball lifer.
Mariners? I have them as an afterthought...same level as the A's and Angels. Only want them to lose because they are impeding the Astros path to the playoffs... they are like an annoying rock on the road that causes the Astros some speed bumps. Only teams I hate are the Rangers, Yankees, Braves, Cardinals, and RedSox. For some reason, Twins pisses me off..no idea why.
Alex is in the lineup!!! Great job sitting Altuve, Joe. Can't actually have 4 real hitters starting at the same time.
Frustrating. I think you should have to earn the right to rest your best hitters by winning the first 2 of the series. We barely got away with it against the White Sox.
He doesn't need to be resting right now. If you won the series already, sure. Sit the entire team for today for all I care.
It's not Altuve sitting that is the issue. It's Altuve sitting less than halfway into 18 consecutive days w/ a game after having 2 of the past 14 days off ( and another DH day). IMO he's gonna need that day off a week from now much worse than now.
