If Tucker and Peña can’t find their stroke our offense is in trouble. They have been flat terrible of late. Peña is done if anyone has a half decent slider and fastball combo.
Depending on the likes of Meyers, McCormick, and even Peña in the postseason is terrifying. Doesn’t help that Tuck has been hot garbage.
It's a game of adjustments and some adjustments are harder than others. Both have a history of eventually figuring it out. And there are two months left to do so. (though I hope it doesn't take that long)
They are perhaps the most popular item in Astros team store history. They sellout every time new Space City inventory arrives. It is too much blue with the pants but the jersey looks good.
Wonder if there has ever been a more negative fan base (well really only a few here on CF) for a team 31 games over .500 and only 2.5 games back is having the best record in the game. Oh, and a team that just added two nice pieces yesterday and a pen project with big playoff upside
Not negative on team but Peña, Tucker, McCormick, Myers batting order has been hard to watch recently. At least McCormick has a solid OBP over last 30 games… but those other three. Bleh…
Diaz might have to start getting more reps at SS if Pena’s slump continues on this way. Hard not to find a place for Aledmys right now.
He’ll find his way, and he saves too many runs defensively to just platoon him. Tucker as well. Myers? Ehhhhhh, not so sure about that.
30 game sample sizes though. It's baseball, a large large large majority of players go through stretches where they really struggle. Pena is a rookie, he is going to likely have more of them than most. Chas hits LHP well but is really bad vs RHP, and Dusty has been sitting him vs LHP. Myers had a good 6 week stretch last year, but is unproven and just had a MAJOR injury. He likely has a nice future ahead of him, but shouldn't be starting on a championship contender right now (My guess is Click acquires a CF today) Tucker has always, and very likely will always, be streaky. Even with the bad stretch lately though, he is on pace to be a 30/30 guy. He is a stud It just amazes me how negative people are about the team when we are so freaking good. Most people just don't understand how baseball works. It isn't like Basketball or Football
I agree, even Correa has looked bad these past 30 games. But man Tucker,Peña, Myers,McCormick,Maldy has been a struggle recently. Astros will try and use a big pitching chip to go after an everyday CF and if they can’t then Astros have great pitching depth with Verlander, McCullers, Framber, Javier, Garcia, Eurquidy, Brown.
Didn’t Correa have a 4-44 slump last year? These awful streaks happen, and I can’t say anyone re-assuring about it because the only thing the greatest offense since WW2 accomplished in 2019 is setting the records for most runners stranded in a 7 game series.
In that Predator commercial after the 8th inning, They said it was the Predator's first hunt on earth. According to my receipts, they were arriving here 1,000s of years ago. I bet predator has a good invisiball.
People just posting. Its ok. Whats tiring is the 3 or 4 people always trying to say how much smarter they are than other posters. Like it matters on clutch fans astros sub forum. Just enjoy the game and get a kick out of the extreme knee jerk posts. There is also entertainment value In people eating their words. I haven’t seen one “expert” on here and nobody is drawing a check for their opinions. This is not a tryout for baseball tonight. Btw, those guys say dumb **** all the time too. Have fun folks.
Benentendi suited up 30 minutes after the trade was announced lol. It felt that way. On a related note, Dusty teased the possibility of Alejandro returning tonight. He definitely does not like paternity leave.
Adam Spolane on Twitter: "Trey Mancini and Christian Vázquez will be made available to the media at 2:30, so it looks like they’ll be able to play tonight. Will Smith is slated to talk to reporters after tonight’s game" / Twitter
