We have other options at catcher and he isn't even catching tonight, not to mention Gattis is a DP machine and Hinch doesn't make a change.
Why is Gattis batting 4th in this game anyway? He's 7th on the team in OPS, 8th in BA and 9th in RBIs. McCann should easily be hitting ahead of him, and if he is, the Astros are probably winning this game right now.
Who are these other options at catcher than have half the potential of Gattis? And do you suggest Gattis gets 150 ABs on the season or something as a true backup C after an .820+ OPS last year? If you're willing to react on that, shouldn't we bench Bregman permanently? Cut Beltran?
game over , my friends. there closer is untouchable. call it a night and stream some adult material. (crossing fingers)
The comment was made in jest / funny, so I liked it in that sense. If you seriously believe Centeno has anywhere near the potential of Gattis as a major leaguer...then I guess it's clear why we're so far apart in this discussion
I'm probably the only one here who would swap Gattis for Centeno straight-up. His fluency in Spanish would be a plus too.
