Altuve saw 28 pitches in his 5 appearances tonight while racking up 2 hits and a couple of walks to go along side his 2 runs, RBI, and stolen base. As a lead off hitter, this just felt like his most productive night. Love seeing him in that form.

We're now 2nd in all of baseball in runs scored and 4th in runs per game. It really is a little shocking considering it feels as though we've struggled for large portions of the year. Even more shocking when you consider

1.Springer and Correa, our 2 best hitters have missed large portions of the year.

2.Gattis and Carter have both significantly underperformed their previous results.

3.Lowrie has missed most of the year

4.Marisnick and Castro have been offensive zeros for most of the year. (only talking offense)

5.Altuve has fallen back to earth, although his overall OPS is still good.

6.Our 1st base production has been among the worst in baseball as a whole.

There's really nothing that has gone really well, and quite a few that have been very disappointing to this point in the year. We have also lost important AB's to injury. All of this and we're 2nd in runs, how good are we when things come together and start going well?

 

the altuve coming back to earth made me laugh a little. i mean he is 2nd in Rbis for his position. what, 6th in total hits with 5 less games than those above him in the AL?
first in Stolen bases, and the fewest strikeouts out of anyone in the stratosphere of great hitters. I wish everybody would come down to earth.

We're a streaky bunch of team individuals. It's weird but it's what we are.
to put things into perspective on what a cold or hot streak can do, during that 10 game losing streak, where all of our guys slumped, our top guys dropped 11 points in their hitting. I can see it going up another 14 points on our next hot streak. It's baseball. some try to over think it.
