On another note, it seems like the NL is getting owned in interleague play.

Great game. Must have been VERY entertaining. I saw the last 2 1/3 innings, right when I got back from Arkansas.

Good win. Now, I want to see them get tomorrow and take their third series in a row.

yeah, its nice to see us winning again. I wonder if we'll keep this old school lineup with berkman batting 3rd, lee 4th, tejada 5th and pence 2nd.

Can't tell ya how exciting it was being out at MMP tonight. Red Sox fans down the 3rd Base Line were everywhere and making noise like they owned the place. But WOW, did they ever go silent after Loretta's 3 run bomb. You could feel the momentum change after that. And just when they started getting back into it, Lance hits the HUUUGGGGE 2 run double. It was like a war of wills between the fans and you could feel the intensity in the stands. Unbelievable experience.

I can't remember seeing a team with as many young talented pitchers as the Red Sox, guys who flat out bring the heat. This doesn't even include Clay Buccholz, one of the best pitching prospects in baseball. Most of these guys don't even make any money.

    Aardsma - 26 years old
    Delcarmen - 26 years old
    Hansen - 24 years old
    Papelbon - 27 years old
    Beckett - 28 years old
Jon Lester - 24 years old
    Masterson - 23 years old
    Matsuzaka - 27 years old

The really startling part about it is that the only Astros that have this kind of stuff are Valverde and Oswalt and they're both older than all of these guys.

Hey Drayton, get a clue. If you want to build a perennial championship contender, look at that talent on the Sox staff. You don't "reload" with free agents, you do it with a talented farm system.

How many of those guys actually came up through Boston's farm?

Everybody but Dice K, Aardsma, and Beckett.

And Aardsma and Beckett were both acquired via trade for prospects.

The Sox actually gave up Hanley Ramirez and others for Beckett. When Hanley Ramirez is an expendable prospect, your farm system is serious.

Not saying that you don't need a good farm to contend, that's pretty obvious...just that I wouldn't consider the Red Sox a shining example of that...not when you have what the second highest payroll in mlb and you paid 50mill just to have the right sign Dice K to a contract.

But I see the point...shoot I miss those days when the team had a plethora of arms in the rotation and in the system...and now what do we got? The team trying to sign a rehabbing Freddy Garcia who wouldn't even help us this year.

--Not saying the Red Sox have a bad farm or throw everything at free agents like the Yankees...but they do spend quite a bit more compared to the Astros. Then again, I suppose the Astros could stand to increase their payroll a little bit, in addition to rebuilding the farm.

Nice, Astros take back the lead. Men on the corners.

I hate youtube. Just found out my account was permanently deleted. No idea why.

Remind me WHY we keep calling Villereal in? Can't we just call up a scrub from the minors, he can do the same thing that Villereal does, but cheaper and he'll have an excuse being a rookie :)
