Not sure if he was wearing the thumb guard consistently prior to the injury- but you can see in the video that it is on his left hand. It is pretty uncommon to use a thumb guard on your bottom hand, which would be his right hand in this case. Most swing related hand problems tend to affect your top hand- due to recoil and/or vibration from the bat.

Hopefully a combination of rest and barreling up baseballs moving forward will get him back right. Gunna need him back to being normal Yordan.

Our ops+ is up to 104 on the season. Last year I think we were 8th at 111. I anticipate a similar finish this year.

gusto is afraid to throw strikes because he knows his pitches are hittable

Terrible start, but no runs (yet) and the night is still young.

Eta- there's one run. DP next please. End this <20 pitches

Ball-1 was really strike-1 to Caminero

    Stay tuned for more f*ckage

Eta- nevermind. Called strike. Ump's reaction is a tad delayed

Should have just used Walter again against this team. A lot of LH bats in the lineup.

The only real takeaway from this is that he won't be going on a rehab assignment

Yeah I don’t really understand that. Should’ve kept Walter up to start and had Gusto in reserve to throw 3 if needed.

Tampa definitely knows the SB game plan vs Houston.

They did it last series too.

It’s no secret… and yet I haven’t seen a lot of improvement after Brown was pissed about.

This Baz guy has a 7.82 ERA in 5 starts for the month of May and we can't make a dent so far.

Would be fun to know exactly how much time Gusto has been able to sit down between innings...75 seconds combined?
