Guess it's time for snap judgements on Kikuchi. He's already being thrown in the fire.

I guess the Duster didn't return his call in time.

Astros 44-28 in their last 74 games.

Keeping that pace the rest of the season yields an 89-73 final record, likely just enough to win the division.

Remind me to never get a shin contusion. Good gawd, man. See you next year, Tucker!

Being a soccer player, I've had some nasty ones. You can't hardly put any pressure on your leg for a week. But I've never had one last anywhere near this long. Fouling a ball off the same exact spot twice in a row must have created such a deep bruise in the bone that it's just taking forever to heal...or it was really a fracture.

Josh Bell smokes a no doubt HR in his first AB with the DBacks. Helped get the Marlins to the playoffs last year after being traded there. Obviously there’s the money aspect but no one can tell me Singleton is going to outperform him the rest of the season.

To me, I think Singleton has become an average first baseman, but I don’t really watch a lot of baseball outside of the second half of the Astros season usually.

Kikuchi will not a throw a no-hitter, but he will win. GM will have a sleight of hand.

We desperately need Singleton’s smart, patient, and professional at bats to happen with risp. It did happen the other day. I prefer his trash at bats to happen in less crucial situations.

I get that there is a reason. Just hoping he can turn it on for the stretch run and playoffs.

Carl Landry had his teeth embedded in Dirk's arm and was shot in the leg and didn't miss as much time as Kyle Tucker.

(Or as has been said here plenty of times, it doesn’t matter… severe bone bruise vs. hairline fractures can hurt the same, cause the same amount of structural instability should another direct hit take place, and have the same timetable for recovery— based on symptoms and imaging showing resolution of the process).

This was the first time they ever commented on imaging. I figured that was what was holding it up. If he’s still experience soreness, I’m guessing he’s not able to compensate in an effective sort of way to make him enough of a threat to start playing.

He's had costly errors in each of the last 2 games. If he isn't hitting, he needs to at least be component in the field

Looking to see if Kikuchi throws less fastballs or throws them more up. I'm guessing Astros change his pitch mix, but not sure what pitch gets used more. I'd guess slider as best guess. Curve if he starts throwing fastball up. I could also see his change getting a small bump, but wouldn't expect it to be the biggest change.
