Please limit talk in this thread to this series. Other topics should be discussed in the appropriate threads. Play-by-play is not allowed. If you need that, there are other places to find it. Political discussions belong in the D&D forum not in here. All games are broadcast on Space City Network unless otherwise noted.

Time to put it in gear.

Sweep would be nice, need 2 out of 3.

Mostly we need some run production from someone in the 6-9 spots.

I would like to see Leon start at least 2 of these games so we can start to see if he can give the team a Joey-like jolt of energy.

A sweep would offset the bs from last series.

Astros have been moving backwards the past 2 weeks. Move forward.

Good opportunity to give Meyers and Peña a 2nd consecutive day off by starting Leon and Dubón. Hopefully it gets them a mental breather.

I would not be opposed to this

My only objection is that Dubon was, literally, the worst hitter on the team ( with 35+ PAs) in July and only Joey had worse K%. Dubon probably needs a rest more than anyone else. But he shouldn't be an everyday starter anyway.

I guess we find out what Yusei Kikuchi has got, or not.

I'm not saying he's the answer and suddenly going to add an .800 OPS bat to the lineup ( but it's possible)

But here are the OF since Tucker got hurt.

    Since June 3rd
    McCormick .676 = 89 wRC+
    Cabbage .650 = 82
    Dubon .629 = 75
    Meyers .605 = 70
    Loperfido .566= 61

    July
    McCormick .547 = 61
    Meyers .542 = 51
    Loperfido .524 = 47
    Dubon .522 = 43
    Cabbage .408 = 14

This team can't win with no outfielders producing.

Let's pray about this a bit. I feel 2 out of 3 victories INCOMING for the Astros! Kikuchi pitches to the tune of 2 runs over 6 innings today.

That being said, I would really like a sweep. As others have mentioned, we've really come back down to Earth after having a really good 20+ game stretch for a while there. Granted, it hasn't hurt us in terms of falling like 5 GB or anything, but we need a strong series and to continue that after this series as well.

Its time to step on the gas, we need a sweep and our offense needs to score some dam runs

That is completely pathetic and no answers other than minor leaguers or McCormick surprise us. Myers is just too streaky. If Tucker doesn’t come back soon, I don’t think we make the playoffs.
