Giants won with Buster Posey. Also, since 2017 has that been Astros preference or just lack of any good catchers in their minor league system?
Way of the world: (exists) Dusty Baker: …that’s wrong I think stubborn jackass… gonna cost this team it’s last little hoo-rah before the nucleus of the lineup/team isn’t as solid as it has been these past 5-6 seasons. PLAY THE BEST HITTING LINEUP AS MUCH HAS HUMANLY POSSIBLE YOU TOAD!
I don’t think people would care as much if Maldy wasn’t hitting below .200 and hadn’t taken a step back defensively.
The Astros are one back in the standings; the Angels and Mariners are only 5 and 5.5 games back respectively - the division is wide freaking open. There are 8 teams very much in it for a wild card - for 3 spots. Every game now is vital - more so than in years past where they had a bigger division lead . I’m actually kinda freaking out here - we need Dusty to play the best lineup always and Dana needs to get another freaking pitcher and stop talking about Brantley- he’s done !
Yordan “should” be in LF for Framber and presumably Browns starts as he was last night. I guess he wasn’t there Wednesday since it was his first game back. That plus Diaz catching Brown and France “should” keep Diaz in the lineup at least 3 out of every 5. One additional game when Yordan gets an expected off day here/there. That’s the only current path unless he somehow gets to catch Framber (nope), Javier (likely nope), or Bielak (maybe… but hopefully Bielak won’t have to be a regular starter after Tuesday).
Wait, where did I say I was confused? And you want me to "accept" that Maldy is the starting catcher so that the idiot doesn't confuse me? Maldy BEING THE STARTING CATCHER is a huge reason I call him an idiot, so you may be the one confused here And Diaz very well may end up catching some games in the playoffs as johnnie is running old man Maldanado into the dirt
Aww, the little b**** is getting his feelings hurt Yea when you are hitting .170 and the pitchers perform better with the other guy, MOST people would understand that but...
I think there is a GREAT chance that Dana brings in another pitcher. The Graveman addition is way more valuable than most around here are giving it credit for. Graveman/Neris/Abreu/Pressley is as good as any team in baseball can run out there for a 4 man back end Dusty ain't changing. In fact you can tell by listening to him that he is getting pissed about being asked about it so if anything it's gonna really make him not want to play Diaz any more than he can get away with
