Like i said its not terrible. When you think about those 5 plus all his shaky outings, Im not that confident in osuna.
LMFAO, without looking I know who it is and it's f**king hilarious. Save for a few historic outliers, closer is by it's nature an unstable position. Guys can go from dominant to gas can seemingly out of nowhere. It's not so much about how great is your guy as much as it's who is truly better/safer (not many)
With Yuli last game getting over .900 ops, the Astros now have SEVEN players with an ops above .900. Has that every happened?
The 1927 Yankees only had 4. Officially, the Astros won't have Yordan or Carlos on the list at the end of the season as they won't have enough plate appearances.
It’s just stupid how good this team is. Lineup is 27 Yankees and they have like 4 of the top 10 starters in era in all the majors, and then if Presley is healthy three guys in the bullpen about as good as it gets. They also play great defense. Only Nit to pick is not a great base running team.
We have a nice routine going, then. Each time he blows a save, you'll complain about not-good he is. And I'll point out how absurd you are and ask you to name actual good closers. You'll avoid the question, and then we'll repeat next time.
Its not like i complain about osuna every time he’s blown a save. I said one thing. Oh and by the way, I don’t expect him to pitch much in the post season anyway. But to sit here and list closers at your stupid request? No. You can go look that **** up if you want.
The 27' Yankees didn't have 2 other 100+ win teams to compete with in the playoffs. In fact, no other team even won 95 games back in 27'. https://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/MLB/1927.shtml Given the 27' Yanks had a 16 game lead over their closest opponent, that would be about like the Astros playing St Louis or the Cubs in the world series this year.
I brought them up in response to the poster who was wondering if any other team had as many players with an OPS over .900. The 2017 Astros had three. I assumed if any team did, it might be the 1927 Yankees.
Nice of them to play a day game for me, didn't realize it until an hour or so ago. Been doing paperwork all morning and now I'm prepping fajitas, beans, pico and queso to cook in a bit, so I was gonna be home all day anyway. Now I don't feel so bad popping open a beer at 1PM on a Thursday.
