Whenever he has a bad game this season, he bounces back in a huge way. He's one of the best pitchers in the league for a reason. He's very good at getting K's and we have a strikeout heavy, slumping offense. Close game though, all it takes is a man on a base and one swing of the bat
yes, but then you have to consider what you do in order to do it. Do Feldman and Fiers have options left? If not, you have to DFA one (unless one gets hurt...or "hurt") in order to get them off the roster for VV and Fields. The Sipp thing..I agree with you, but I'm saying the reality is (imo) that they would never knowingly go into the playoffs with 1 LH RP if they had a choice. And they do. I think Fields will make it on, Feldman will be the emergency SP, and Fiers and VV miss the playoffs...by option for Fiers if he has any, otherwise by "injury"
The line up trotted out there by the manager is garbage.. If I am a pitcher I just walk Correa every time up and cost the rest of the way and let the deadly mediocre quartet of Valbuena, Gattis, Gomez and Rasmus hit 200 with Correa on base.
Correa will steal 2 bases and let one of those guys sac fly him in. They might get him in 1 in 4 times..
Again, Astros starters have to keep up the outstanding pitching JUST to have a fighting chance. Can't afford to give up more than 2 runs. That has to be stressful on the starters. It's a team sport but I wouldn't blame the starters for getting frustrated with the lack of offense.
No, I don't. Replay is terrible at seeing when the ball actually hits the glove. That's a pretty important part of the "bang-bang" scenario we're talking about.
