Nope. Kubiak has peaked. He's not going to get any better. Bush went from coaching a refreshingly aggressive and well-executing defense last year to an uncreative, ridiculously predictable defense, on which pretty much everyone seems to have forgotten how to make a stinkin tackle. The special teams coach--holy crap. Lost in all the attention on the historically bad defense is the fact that our special teams just suck. They can't tackle, they don't run back for decent yardage. They just suck. Then there's David Gibbs. Holy crap. Just-- holy crap. So yeah, coaching has a lot to do with it IMO.
Right! This isn't the gutless Dallas Cowboys who quit on their coach. They really fought their hearts out tonight. They left it all on the field and as a fan, you really can't ask for more. But this game was a microcosm of the Texans. It was a spectacular comeback only to result in a loss.
aren't you tired of singing this song every week? they *did* have a few breaks go their way tonight. they also had some bad breaks. know what the worst break of all was, though? they were more poorly coached and less talented than the other team. they lost, because they *should* have. It's what losers do: they lose. You even have Kubiak in the presser calling it "just another loss". You got that right, Gary. If you can't make your own breaks (like winners do), you'll find yourself constantly saying "we were just two or three plays away from being 10-6 this year!!" Horse radish. The Texans keep losing because they are losers. To change that they're going to have to make some coaching changes and obviously some defensive personnel changes.
It's odd that the Texans always come up short. It's one thing to lose one fluky game, another to do so over and over. Why is it we never end up with a season where we go 12-4, and our opponents' fans keep lamenting how they could've beaten us if "a few breaks had gone their way"? Why is it we get unlucky a lot more times than we're lucky? In the end, 5 seasons even with a 16 game schedule is a nice, large sample size. Enough to say we are the definition of mediocrity.
Jon Gruden just said, "That Texans offense in the 4th quarter was the best i've seen from any team all season." Please come and coach Jon please!!!
This year, they're worse than mediocre. 5-8 is flat out sucktitude. They've absolutely gone backwards (running game excluded).
Why don't they just play in a 2-minute drill the whole game? They suck the first half anyway, so why not at least try something different?
I know, right? If GK could learn anything at all, you'd think he'd notice how bad his "scripts" suck. Here's another scripted 14-0 deficit next Sunday.
I don't blame this on Matt, I really don't the guy was spectacular tonight and did everything he could to win the game, but when you have stupid motha****er like Kubiak as your head coach you definitely going to lose in some way.
