Montero shouldn’t even be on the roster. Personally, I would have went Seth Martinez in the 8th and then reassessed.
Maybe Brown can get rid of Montero at the trade deadline by attaching some prospects so a team can take that contract. Then maybe, just maybe we can have Whitley take Montero's spot on the roster.
You act like the Mariners haven’t been ass and we haven’t had the best record in baseball over the last 3 weeks. And yes, as the other person you responded to mentioned, this team needs the break. Our relievers have been taxed, Altuve and Yordan have been banged up and it’s more time for Tucker and JV to get closer to being back.
I thoroughly did NOT enjoy the last two games but to be honest I am pleasantly surprised that we are only one game back heading into the ASB. With all the injuries. All the rookie manager bad decisions. All the inconsistent hitting with RISP. With all the losses in one and two run games. With all the bad calls from the umps working against us. I like our chances a hell of a lot more than I did a month ago. The guys are tired. They need to regroup. Players like Pena need to remember to quit chasing sliders outside the strike zone. The three game series at Seattle coming out of ASB will be huge. I think we all have to admit that despite all of collective griping we are fortunate to be where we are. Sometimes I think we have unrealistic expectations.
ONE game back !!! Seattluck loses again to LAA --- another 1-run L. Who'da thunk they wouldn't continue a 75% win-pace in those games? .
It wasn’t him that gave it up. IDK if he left the game injured or got tossed but he only pitched to one batter and walked them.
Voth gave it up, not Stanek. Stanek left the game after walking 1 batter with a back injury and pitches not close to the zone.
You regularly get poor performance reviews at work and always blame it on your manager instead of taking ownership of your own shortcomings. Likewise you blame the Astros shortcomings on the manager instead of the players on the field.
