Luis Castillo Josh Hader Juan Soto With hindsight, considering he signed a team friendly extension, Luis Castillo would’ve been a great add, although I’m not sure Houston could’ve put together a package to beat Seattle’s. Soto is one of the best non-rental players ever traded, but Houston could not compete with the package the Padres gave up. I wanted Josh Bell over Mancini, but he didn’t do much for the Padres.
Those would have been nice but I don't think there was anything we could have done to get those. I wanted Bell too (wanted him over Abreu during the offseason as well) but wasn't it a complete suprise when he was included with Soto?
Yes, there was no way Houston was getting Soto or Bell but they probably could’ve figured out a way to get Hader. Who knows if it would have been a good deal or not.

Does no one else see through this bullish!t? Not only did Click trade for Mancini and Vazquez, he had a trade lined up for Contreras. Nvm we won the damn World Series! What is everyone’s definition of “aggressive” here? I think it’s high time we acknowledge that Crane simply didn’t like Click and probably vice versa and that’s why he wasn’t retained. Unfortunately that brought us the infamous Crane-Baggy off-season we’ve grown oh so fond of lately.

Just as important as the Graveman acquisition is, the other half of that is letting Corey Lee go. Opening up the most definite takeover at catcher for Diaz for the next SEVERAL years.
