Completely forgot even though I said I wanted it to happen before the game started. Congrats to Garcia on his 1st MLB W!

Stop acting like Kent Emanuel has suddenly morphed into Josh Hader. Calm your t*** and give it another week and things should settle themselves out.
Hyperbole much? I think Emanuel is a competent reliever, and the Astros don't have enough of those to handle back to back competitive games without frying the bullpen. I would be as upset if the Astros wasted an outing of Abreu or even Raley. The Astros rotation is demanding a lot of innings from the bullpen. I don't see Astros pen righting itself as long it has one long man and Joe Smith. Adding Paredes is only going to be rearranging the deck chairs. They are still going to lean too much on 5-6 guys unless the long man starts taking the ball from the starter and finishing games.
It just needs one last scene. https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffnt&q=Gu...i=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7eeuP6o_Uo
3/5 of the rotation is currently injured 3 relievers we were counting on for late inning relief (Baez, Taylor, and Paredes) are on the IL. Scrubb was unavailable yesterday because he tweaked something Whitley and Solis are injured and still taking up 40 man spots I don't know what you expect or even want to happen....but considering all that the Astros 1.5 games out from the best record in baseball Someone had to pitch that 8th inning with a big lead. Raley, Bielak, Abreu, Scrubb, Stanek, and Pressly are all above Emanuel on the depth chart.
Perhaps it has something to do with his hand that seemed to be an issue after the jam shot last night.
When the Astros are playing 13 days in a row expect nearly everyone to get a day off. This isn't the 90s. Players aren't playing 160 games anymore. No, a couple days ago Dusty said Alvarez was going to play LF today. However, his legs were sore so they are giving him the day off and having Brantley DH
We don't know. He hasn't started throwing yet. Monday is an off day so they are skipping his turn in the rotation. We would need him on May 22nd. I would be surprised if he is back that soon.
Is the IL still permit backdating to the day last played due to injury? If so, he'll be available 5/22 or 5/23. His spot is scheduled for 5/22. I'm sure they know when and have contingencies if he can't make it. Good news on the horizon, after a successful bull pen session Friday, Framber Valdez is set to throw three innings for the Skeeters today and is tentatively expected back in June. While there's nothing new in reports, the last I heard is that it's possible Verlander could be back late in the playoffs. I suspect that is optimistic since players are generally optimistic, But I'd wait to see if he were needed before starting him after that much time off. Jake Odorizzi is beginning rehab pitching with the Skeeters Monday and might be ready by the time Urquidys rotation spot is due. So within a couple of weeks, both Urquidy and Odorizzi could be available and Framber shortly after that, We might go from want to plenty soon for starters.
