should have left the roof closed, even though it is super gorgeous outside.

Peacock and Musgrove have been awful today. I'm giving Peacock a pass since he's been great this year, but Musgrove should be replaced along with Fiers.

Why should it have been Devenski so clearly?

Because Peacock sucked, obviously. Devo should always have pitched if anyone else screws up.

It's still too early to replace Musgrove. Especially since he's still not even had a chance to fully establish himself in the majors. Although, if he has a few more starts like this then they'll have to decide if they want to move him to the bullpen, send him to AAA (which would likely do no good for him) or ride it out with him in the rotation.

Why rock the boat? He is doing great where is is the past week or so. He is coming up with men on base. Guys "in a zone" tend to not want to be moved out of that zone.

We can't just throw Devenski out there every single time we need 3-4 innings from a reliever. That's a quick way to wear out his arm. It's a long season.

so, situation be damned, pitch Devo if he's rested. Down 10-0? Devo! Up 5-1? Devo! Think you might need Devo later because you're 4 innings into a game and might have higher leverage work to come? Devo now anyway!

OK, maybe that'll get Correa out of his slump.

Peacock has pitched well all year with the exception of that 2nd game of a back to back. Bringing Devenski in with a 5-2 deficit makes no sense when the Astros have competent options.

True. Still, hate to see us running peacock out there. Yes he has been good so far but he historically wets himself up there and he just did again. The first 2 getting on with a single and a walk. The walk to CARLOS GOMEZ!
