Its how we are losing that bothers me. Sure, the pitching has been very good in fact, but the offense is making the other teams pitching staffs all look like Cy Young and MVP winners. When the pitching is good, you have to capitalize. You cant just let well pitched games go down the toilet. Not only is it not good for our win/loss record, but it can be demoralizing. Losing close doesn't make the power vacuum feel any better to me. In a sense its harder, because they were games that would have been won if we had just a modicum of offense.
Offense will always come and go, especially for this team. Consistent pitching is the only way they'll get back in it... good to see Giles continuing his solid rebound.
Here's your Astros talk from them. Would be 3rd consecutive 2-1 game Would be 5th consecutive loss by one run Tied for most one-run losses with 10 17-26; above .500 in May; 7-17 in April; didn't win back to back games until May 85-95 in last 180 games Hot start last year carried them into the playoffs
But when it comes, it needs to amount to a few 5 and 8 game winning streaks to offset the losses. That isn't happening. They cant string more than two together without faltering once again. I pointed out and meant the pitching has been good. Very good often time. But the silver lining is too thin for me to be happy when the result amounts to a loss.
It would have by now... If they had consistent pitching. If they continue to pitch like this, they'll score enough runs to garner wins. That includes Gregerson getting his head out of his ass.
Astros needs to do their duty today and repent tomorrow. Let's get dirty on these Rangers and revenge Bautista.
Even these announcers (as crappy as they have been) just called Hinch for not sending Giles back out there
He just mentioned it again. In danger of losing another 2-1 game. It would be their 5th consecutive loss by one run.
