Didn't get much better after that...I took this at ceremonial first pitch time.

Does the guaranteed money increase the incentive for Singleton to improve, or decrease?

Still trying to figure that out... but he needs to improve.

At this point I think they just need to shut Singleton down.

I don't know if he will ever pan out or not, but right now he is inside his head and has no chance for success, currently in the midst of an 0-22, with 18 K's.

Given the brief time left he's not gonna figure anything out, get to the the offseason, clear his head, and get back to the drawing board.

There's 4 games left... I would understand the above logic when he was still scuffling in late July or August, but you're not going to see much of an impact for shutting him down the last 4 games of the season.

The guaranteed money certainly plays a factor... if he wasn't signed, he'd likely have been sent down at some point to try and work on some things.

Well, we are sitting at #6 presently. It looks like our window is in the 4-7 range.

A week and a half ago, I thought avoiding 90 losses was quite doable. Now that that appears unattainable, may as well go for the better pick.

Singleton is still drawing walks at a high clip, I see this as a positive sign.

He needs to shorten the swing like Carter did if he is going to start making more consistent contact though, right now he isnt even putting the bat on the ball, he either Ks or walks.

Guzman sucks. Thankfully this guy can't get close to the plate.

If I know that Fields is nursing an oblique injury, shouldn't Ashby know that as well?

    Nursing an oblique injury?

    That's intriguing.

In retrospect, it sounds like the tag line to a Far Side cartoon.
