Michael Young is not a 1B. Good for us though.

Lol, at the Texas RF, not going ahead and playing that ball.

Edit: Umpires ended up making the right call.

At the game but could not tell if it was touched. Murphy did throw his hands up immediately. Probably a Rangers fan down there.

It hit the tray a vendor was carrying. It was well into the stands. I actually thought it was foul until the replay where you could clearly see chalk fly into the air.

First game I've seen in a while, but I'm very impressed by Barmes' defense. Good stretch by Lee on that play for not being a regular 1B.

Anybody else never realize that Wandy was a switch-hitter?

I've never seen any good evidence that it shows anything besides possibly luck.

I don't know if that was Carpenter's sister or his GF sitting next to his parents, but she is fine.

Not necessarily. It means you're losing close games and winning games in blowouts (thus inflating your runs scored vs given up). That could be bad luck, a bad closer (leading to lots of blown saves and losses by 1 or 2 runs), unclutchiness if you believe in that stuff, bad management, etc.

But bottom line is that generally means they lose most of their close games.

I believe Berkman hit a HR from both sides of the plate in one game for the 2nd time this season. His HR total matches that of Pence + Lee + Wallace and he's missed 10 games.

Just verified it... his 2nd time this year (I believe the other was against us), 4th in his career (did it twice with us in '06)... the 2nd shot tonight went 444 feet into the street.

So Wandy has the lowest ERA of all starting LHPs in baseball since the end of last June and the 4th lowest overall.

Didn't catch that. Very impressive. He's grown a lot as a pitcher. Not a lot of pitchers can make and sustain that kind of improvement at this level.

Good win...Wandy was brilliant and I am sure more then a few scouts were on hand to watch it. Hard to imagine Wandy sticking around when so many teams need starting pitching and not enough is available. The real question is what kind of return we can expect for him, a few more of these starts before the deadline and it may surpass what Roy brought back.

Great game by JMike but still doesn't justify taking ABs away from Wallace...future not present should be the priority.

He's a DH. You know: half a baseball player.
