Was that the distance? He mashed that sucker. The ball tailed back over the plate on Roy. He also robbed CJ the prev inning of what would've been at least a 2B.
Awesome grab by Michaels to save Roy from more damage. Andrus got a bit lucky though so maybe it balances out.
He does look good. I'm pleasantly surprised with what I've seen in his first few games. A single to right in his 1st AB. An oppo field single in his 2nd AB. His bat speed looks noticeably better than what I remembered from previous times seeing him.
I don't know if Clark sent Castro there or not when the ball bounced away but... things too often seem to go wrong with baserunning since Clark has taken over at 3rd.
I am okay with that baserunning, its aggresive and with our offense an extra base might help. Although, making an out at third is a major NO-NO.
I'm talking about the out at 3rd. I wonder if Clark encouraged Castro to go to 3rd or if it was all Castro.
Yea, I meant I was cool with the aggressive nature of that play even though it was a bad play. Agree on Clark, he has regressed as a 3rd base coach since the Cards series in July last year.
I wonder if Roy is having any issues working with Castro. Things went pretty well in their first outing together but I remember in that late inning that Roy and Castro seemed to have trouble getting on the same page, which is only natural given that they barely know each other.
