Yeah, you are right, a grand total of 2 runs scored against 2 horrible starting pitchers on a lousy team, a bull pen that can't hold a lead if their life depended on it. Just keep burying your head in the sand, and say "It is ok, it is a long season" Meanwhile watch the ship keep sinking, Roger go elsewhere, and the miracle seasons of the last 2 years fade into memory. My point is that settling for mediocrity is unacceptable, players have ups and downs, slumps and hot streaks but 25% of the season is ENOUGH of a sample to say....."Our outfield sucks" We need more offensive production, our bullpen has been awful, it needs help. Our closer can't throw his fastball anymore in the right location. How in HADES can you refute ANY of this....it is so fricken obvious? DD
Of course, as you continually choose to ignore, they haven't sucked for 25% of the season. Just because they have sucked lately doesn't mean they have sucked all year. They haven't. But keep on keepin' on. I wouldn't expect anything less.
Since when did Mike O'Conner become a horrible starter? If his 2.6 ERA is terrible, you have some weird standards.

i wish lidge were pitching better. that's my #1 concern. i was hoping he'd turned the corner after his last few outings. i'm disappointed in the production from lane and wilson. i think burke needs to get some playing time from one of them. for the last couple of seasons i've been saying lane is my least favorite astro...he remains that. but if they get backe back...and get clemens back...this team is going to have a pretty impressive starting rotation. we saw what that meant last season. people b****ed and moaned about the offense last year...even while our boys were playing in the World freaking Series.
This is exactly my point, play Burke more, put Lamb at 1B more and Berkman in the OF. As for Pitching.....PRAY that Roger comes back. I believed he was coming back, but he may be rethinking that based on the latest offensive swoon. Major, You are correct on the last pitcher and his low ERA, he is much better than I intimated. DD

Buck, You sure have been aggressive lately, you forget to take your meds? How can you call someone in here who cares about the team a front runner? That makes no sense, isn't a front runner only a fan when they are winning? I enjoy the games but I expect higher performance, heck, I have season tickets to the RR Express, I am certainly as big a fan as anyone else. I just want the team to play better, and to deal with problems more quickly, is that so hard to understand? And please keep your foul language to yourself, thanks. DD
