CJ puts his page on private. Astros fans are going to kill him this year on social media. I would love to hear the full story.
No, that was the pbp guy (Dave Raymond) who actually used to be the Astros pbp guy. CJ used to be an Astro as well.
Bregman has lived seemingly rent-free in Nitkowski’s head since he debuted. Rangers fans hate his ass too
A rookie on this particular forum, sure. 99'ers who spew 5th-grade level snarky retorts to reasonable statements about the Astros don't deserve respect just because they've been spewing it for 30 years after they finished the 5th grade. It is quite a time to be alive, but not for the reasons you implied.
I've been here for two years and seen plenty of Major's trollish schtick. Someone says "A". Major says "This idiot thinks B. That is such a stupid thing to think. They've obviously not been following baseball as long my fat ass has." It gets old, and I've never seen much respect from Major on this board, although I guess everyone has their clique.
lmao the Rangers broadcaster automatically takes the L for putting his twitter on private. What a clown
Perhaps instead of worrying so much about me, you should try to figure out why you have to keep making new accounts. pw1993Member Joined: Jan 12, 2018
I lurked for two years before joining. Didn't have an account before. Thank you for providing us yet another example of how you draw an illogical conclusion from something someone posted on this board. (Example: "The Astros lost a heartbreaker" Major's conclusion --> "This person is panicking and they're an idiot.")
One aspect of Gattis's struggles might just be age-related decline in power. Here is the average distance on Gattis's fly balls for each season since 2015 (according to Statcast): 2015 - 329 ft 2016 - 322 ft 2017 - 315 ft 2018 - 294 ft So, at the start of the season he is already down 35 ft from his peak in 2015. By the end of this season, how far will he be down? (Granted, that 294 ft figure is only based on the 8 fly balls he's hit this season, and that number may rise with a larger sample size. But it's up to Gattis to make that happen.) This isn't like twenty years ago when it might have been more accepted to use steroids to reverse this trend. Of course the consequence of this decline in power is that a lot of his fly balls that used to go for HRs now just get caught deep in the outfield for outs. He must know this, and perhaps he's trying to compensate by watching more pitches in order to draw walks.
Sometimes this board is so biased, its unreal..... If you just follow the cookie trail on most tiffs, its over something rather paltry, yet it seems no one wants to follow the cookie trail, just react to reactions. The knowledge on this board sometimes forgets to pack their wisdom bag.
Welp. Another new guy gets in a tiff with a long time poster and is being called Cangrejaro for it. That guy achieved legendary status here whether he did it dubiously or not. Straight up effing legend. Anyway, GO ASTROS
There's a difference between being belligerent and being high-strung. Belligerence is a part of trolling behavior, and Major crosses into that territory quite frequently. Having 20 years of time on the board doesn't justify that type of behavior. If people want to be respected on this board, they just need to show respect and goodwill to other members of the fan community. My posting history is an open book and reflects those values. However if people cross the line into belligerent posting habits, they can't expect to be accorded respect in return, regardless of how many cyber bullies may wish to back them up.
pw provides some great insight. But at the end of the day... it's just a message board. It's not that serious. I called out @Buck Turgidson one time and it didn't end well. That was when I realized that I probably shouldn't take myself too seriously on here.
