My hot take is give Silas some credit. Considering we are starting KPJ and Green in the backcourt this team easily could be jacking bad shots left and right (happened a few times), but in general they actually played very unselfish. I don't care how many plays he runs, as long as the team is playing hard and together and for each other, Silas should be commended. They are going to lose a lot of games this year just because we have way too many bad defenders. But on offense if we can play for one another, thats the only way we will have a fun season with everyone improving.

Ye with little faith! Sengod is going to be better than those fat dudes.

    I agree with everything completely.
    Tate is a starter.
KMJ should be his back up.
Sengun should start or get 30 ish minutes as the 3rd big behind Wood and Theis

With that said, tonight better have been a conditioning thing with Alpe, and he better be playing starter minutes from here on because he's at least as good as the other rookie getting 30 mpg.

We should all thank John Wall for falling back.

If he didn't, Silas would have played Jalen Green for 13 minutes tonight from off the bench while Wall played 30+ minutes.

Sengun is somehow miles ahead of everyone in terms of feel for the game and general bball iq. Green is fine, but his jump shot is just concerning, might need a lot of work.

His jumper looks awkward, bit of a chicken wing elbow and he might jump too high. Similar to Westbrook.
You can tell he has the hand eye coordination and fluidity to make it work, just hope it gets a little cleaner looking so it can unlock his entire offensive repertoire

It's hard to find much to complain about here - people should be happy. Everyone looked pretty good with the exception of perhaps one player

KPJ is the teams best player… for now

Green will average 20. I bet the shot starts falling and he gets fouled a ton because of the overwhelming athleticism. Once he puts on strength and improves defense, he’ll be unstoppable.

Wood will need to sacrifice and score more by dominating the paint, too many other good options for him to isolate. Good player, but don’t think he fits the timeline. Hope he builds value and is traded at the end of the season.

    House needs to be cut

Tate needs to start over Gordon, Gordon looks lost with 2 hungry guards in the lineup. Tate won’t need the ball and can play make.

We’ll all be b****ing about Sengun not getting enough minutes until he forces his way into starting lineup.

Theis was decent, but I can't help but feel the Rockets signed him just so they can polish him up and trade him elsewhere later.

Not necessarily a bad thing, but closer to the trade deadline, teams will start getting desperate, and players like Theis would be exactly what a lot of playoff teams look for as a temporary solution.

He’s a missing piece to contending teams imo. Dirty work, defense and at least a threat to shoot. Always wanted him with Harden.
If he can be a veteran presence and play 20 min or so I would be fine with it here.

Why were people debating Green vs Cade vs Mobley when the clear answer should've been Sengun?

That’s because that’s exactly what the rockets are doing. Solid center on a good contract that will get good minutes until Alpi is ready. That’s looking like around the trade deadline IMO.

Tate fits better in the starting lineup. He’s that glue guy that covers for people’s mistakes, plays great defense and doesn’t need the ball in his hands even though he’s an underrated playmaker.

Gordon looks mentally checked out. Him and House always look better in practice than the real games. However if Gordon survives another trade deadline he will magically look a lot better, lol.

He was lights out shooting in summer league. I wouldn’t draw a conclusion one way or the other based on one game.

I wasn't able to see the game. I'm going to love this team though. Sengun and Green we're the two people I wanted in the draft the most. I hope Sengun starts.

    How did Jalen's tatts look?

    Eric Gordon doesn’t give a ****.

I don’t really blame him… he is a vet used to winning and is on a team with a backcourt that aren’t even 40 years old combined.

it means he picked up a bad habit of first issuing a caveat when praising sengun...this goes way back when first highlights and news of sengun appeared, people used to praise his game but were cautious of his bad defense and would always sprinkle question marks on defense after giving high praise to mvp...people are fearful of being fooled so they got to hedge their bets somehow regardless if that is something as ridiculous as his height being problem on offense

that being said him missing FTs, first in the summer league, and now repeating it in the preseason, is annoying moreso because the wood is doing the same thing...

We will be fine offensively we need to work on our team defense, turnovers and free throws. Jalen is a good shooter he just had a bad shooting night. This team look more efficient and less turnover prone than last year. Scoot has improved and will average over 20 points a game and 9 assists. Jalen will average 20 points a night he needs to work on his defense(hands up and move his feet). Wood will score and average over 20 points but he really needs to work on his free throws because team are just going to foul him in the future. Sengun will a double double each game, he is very physical. The team is better than i thought but they really need to work on their defense.
