Kubes always comes out with "safe plays" in those situations. Runs or short passes. Screens. He doesn't want to get caught having to punt or having to drop back too close to his own endzone. By the time he decides to make a drive of it (if he decides to try to score), a bunch of time has run off the clock and the best we can ever hope for is getting into FG range. We never just decide to go for it from the get go so we never have enough time to where a TD might be a possibility.
That pick 6 was a 3-option pass play with 6+ in coverage....Schaub shouldve thrown it OB on that play too...not always a bad thing.
Terrible time management by Kubiak to end the half. Should be up by way more. Schaub seems to ALWAYS throws a pick 6 on sideline passes at big moments.
plus side, our d is back! negative side, the offense is still allergic to the redzone. how did we go from 2nd in the league in scoring to having to settle for the inglorious field goals. =( offense where art thou? i miss you. at worst,we should be up 9-0!
It's a weakness he's always had and one that's never gotten better. He's gotten better at coaching challenges, but clock management is still as weak as it's ever been.
"a few gingerly tosses"??? -Costas never ****s up grammer -Lets hope thats not an omen about Dalton in the 2nd half
