Wandy is doing great. I hope he can keep this going until the 8th, and we can score a few more runs and fully prevent blowing another save.
If he gets through the 8th efficiently, let him finish it. With the game they have to finish with the Nats AND the fact that this is his last start until after the break, no reason he can't do it himself.
It's already been said but wow, complete game shutout with 11 punchouts. Outstanding outing. Wandy just lowered his ERA under 3 again.
All in all, great way to end the series after a big letdown last night. Now, we have an unfinished game and a full game to start off against a four-A team.
his game doesn't rely on overpowering hitters. He has a 90-92 MPH fastball right now, I'm not pitching expert but it would make sense that he can maintain his velocity longer than someone who depends on a 96 MPH fastball. As long as his command doesn't drop off he can have a pretty long lifespan in the league.
I just watched the game on DVR. Wandy was sick. What's up with Kaz? He looks incredibly bad at the plate again. Hunter is also in a slump, having lots of poor ABs and hasn't walked in 21 games. Check out his numbers over the last 28 days: http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.cgi?n1=pencehu01&year=&t=b
Went to the game today. Man Pence is in a slump, but at least the Astros got the shutout win. Wandy was good today
