no, he's talking about worst ever, not just that 4th inning. the situation has only come up once so far. talk about hyperbole.
I asked this in the GARM...how come the stros can easily fill a 40,000 stadium but the Rox can't fill an 18,000 arena....
yea, but you watch the astros more than anyone else. of course you're gonna think they are worse than the other teams. you don't get to see the other teams screw up.
Lets give out some postseason awards after 2.5 games: NL MVP: Xavier Nady Manager of the Year: Jim Tracy
prices are the biggest factor Since when is the stadium filled tonight? I've seen tons and tons of emptiness..
With the number of infielders the Astros turn into outfielders, it's not that big of a shock. Still, he had it in his glove. It looked like he lost focus. He thought he had it and became a little lackadasical. Oops.
what do you mean. worst ever implies all of time. that 4th inning wasn't the only time it's happened in astros history, it was just part of a continuing trend which i decided to point out (as opposed to randomly mentioning it after a single to right with no one on). anyone remember walt weiss' play in the 10th inning of game 3 a few years ago? remember what that situation started out as? yep, bases loaded, no outs. a eusebio liner that weiss made the play on, a weak carl everett right-handed dribbler, and someone else probably sucking ended that threat and helped cost us the series.
When it rains it pours. 2 errors on AE. Uck. Saying that Burke has struggled in CF would be a compliment at this young juncture.
yeah, but you still get to see other teams with the bases loaded. no one makes as little out of them as us. even when we've had really good offenses we couldn't handle bases loaded pressure. look how long it took bags to get his first grand slam. biggio is something like a .230 hitter with the bases loaded (which is just appallingly bad). we just suck with the bases loaded. it's mental. it's practically better to just have 1st and 2nd so we won't build it up in our minds and suck.
he certainly doesn't have the arm to be in the OF for his career.. either that, or he didn't realize the guy was gonna try to score. why else would he take an angle that didn't give him the momentum to throw home? These are things I'd think any of them would understand..
i'm willing to be there's a fan in every other MLB city that thinks the same thing about their own team.
Paulino was on 2nd. He was going to advance the 3rd. But if he had been on 3rd, NOBODY would have been able to throw him out at home from the warning track in center.
