I think when it's all said and done, our offense will rank somewhere in the middle, which is pretty reflective of the talent we have. And you're right they were so bad for so long they were due to break out.
between berkman, burke, lamb, huff, biggio, and scott i think we're pretty solid. granted scott isn't going to continue to dominate the ball the way he has, but he clearly has talent - enough so that he would hopefully remain a solid hitter. same with burke and huff. biggio is biggio and berkman is berkman..... and lamb has been hitting well for months now. with taveras and even everett hitting better, plus wilson and ensberg, i think we're pretty deep (yes i know that wilson and ensberg have pretty much sucked, but they're both capable of getting hits..... maybe). but that's just me.
Got to win today, get within 2.5 games and only 2 back in the loss column...got to finish these series where we win the first 2. DD
These new radio guys suck. He just said "these fans will be downright gay if ....." Bring back Alan Ashby.
"that's baseball." Also, Scott and Huff are somewhat neutralized by lefty pitching. Berkman, while still a good right-handed hitter, is also not as dominant. But all of those guys are way to hot to play the lefty-righty matchup game that Phil has loved to partake in. I'm glad he kept the lineup basically the same as last night... but granted, poor performances at the plate will only strengthen his resolve to get Wilson back in the lineup against left-handed pitching.
HUGE Double Play!! The pre trade deadline Astros would have given up a grand slam, the new Astros get out of a huge jam.
anybody notice that the clubhouse seems to have a different feel to it now???.....more jokes (like yday on oswalt after the hr) and even things like they just showed about leaving a paper trail of reminders for berkman and the team picture....good sign...looks like the team is starting to have fun again
