as excited as i am now about this possible astros turnaround... i have to remember there is still over 50 games left, we have to take this one game at a time. as long as we take care of our business and win series and take a few sweeps, it really doesn't matter what the other teams do because that will put us in position to make the playoffs.
Of course, lets not all get too carried away. We are winning games we're supposed to win right now... winning these series is making up for all the ones we lost during interleague play (Royals!), and to Colorado, San Fran, etc. But, its good to see a "pulse"... this team has one... and its clearly more fun to watch baseball when your team's got a chance. Just think... every time the Astros dissapoint you... what it would be like to live in Pittsburgh (a once proud franchise), Kansas City, Tampa Bay, or Dallas ( ).
Wow. Beautiful game. 3 games behind the reds now. The key to the astros is once you give up on them they begin their comeback.
Holy Toledo Batman... Now, all we have to do is be consistent...Scott is showing some good wood, as is Biggio...
as far as oswalt's chances of getting to 20 wins for the third season in a row it doesn't look good.... 51 games left, 11 wins away....he would need to win every start and then catch another on the days off allowing him to pitch an extra game.... really tough!
Looking on ESPN News, it's fun seeing the Astros creeping up the standings. Last week? Bottom of the screen. Now? Middle of the screen slowly catching up. Although I don't like the newscaster including them in the group "clinging" to postseason hopes. The Astros are like Jason or Michael Meyers. No matter how fast and far you run and how slow they appear to be going, when you turn around they're right behind you.
Absolutely! I try to go to Gold's most days of the week. We should also get together and catch an Astros game at one of the bars here, especially now that the Astros are making some noise . Once school starts, we'll have a lot more Astros fans here too.
i know this doesnt really apply....but i found this and thought it wus pretty funny............... http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedia/photo_gallery/0608/missed.it2/content.3.html
