Oh come on now Nick. ESPN has taught us that the Astros get shut out when Clemens pitches. And if it's on ESPN it must be true.

I still have more fun watching St. Louis lose.. and seeing just how wide open this NL is. Hell, the Mets aren't that powerful of a team once you get passed Pedro (who's a shell of his former self).

Izzy definitely served that one up on a tee for Ross... St. Louis is going to have some major questions if they don't win it all this year (namely re-signing Edmonds, Izzy, finding another OF, dealing with head-cases in Marquis, and still having a $100 million dollar payroll because of Carpenter, Rolen, and Pujols).

Frankly, the Astros are better set-up for the long term (which isn't important right now, but still nice to know).

It's nice to see Jason Lane hit one to the railroad tracks, but its still a shame the way things have gone for him this year. :(

I forgot that Lane was still on the team... really (but he put a good charge into that ball).

Kinda sux to see Oswalt only throw 6 innings in a game that he was cruising in.... but he's right at 99 pitches, so it isn't that big of a deal.

Actually, we have Borkowski for games like this... he's probably the most dominant mop-up guy in baseball.

That is ENOUGH runs, save some for tomorrow.......we are going to catch up for the WHOLE year if this keeps up.

The Mets are clearly the only team to worry about in the NL. The Cards are not even as good as the Astros IMO.

The Mets pitching is questionable at best. Who knows how healthy or effective he'll be come October. Glavine has been OK at best. After those 2 their starters are not good, and their bullpen is OK as well. The lineup has quite a bit of thunder, but they dont hit for avg. The mets are very beatable, especially in 5 or 7 game series where you throw Oswalt, Clemens, Pettite and Backe at them. 1-6 the Astros lineup is good as well, if they even swing it half as good as they are now. 1 thru 6 in August(since the trade deadline) all have OPS over 1.000.

Springer takes one out of Lidge's book. K's the side on 10 pitches.

Its gonna be trial by fire on Saturday for Hirsh having to up against Peavy who is really pitching well lately. I guess if we just score a quarter of what we scored today we should be ok :)

Man I would not be surprised to see the Cards sitting at home this postseason. I would like that because 1) That means we made the postseason and 2) I hate the Cards like I hate the Mavs and I hate communism.

St. Louis is up 6 on us with 49 to play. That is definitely not a safe lead for St. Louis, especially considering that we are doing well now (knock on wood) and they are ice cold. We play them later in the year and can definitely impact the 6 game lead then. Oh how happy Jackfruit would be to make the postseason at St. Louis' expense.

I still don't see why the Reds just won't drop dead...Man their still making trades up to today...Every time the Stros win the Reds win and everytime the Stros lose the Reds Lose...I can't believe we have only made up 1/2 game on those Bastards...

Your exactly right...Like I posted earlier our Pitching is the best especialy if Hirsh can come up and contribute...We definately have the best bullpen and if Lidge comes out of his euphoric state and becomes Lights out again and we keep hitting like this..."Every body better back up sucker cause I feel good..." :D

Where is Berkman? He didn't get hurt did he? Wow, the Stros are on fire, maybe the "run" is on. I have been working, missed the whole thing.
