Taylor's realy got a good run on his fastball, along with the killer breaking ball... if he can just work on keeping his stuff down (just a tad), he could be just as effective as Chris Carpenter in the future.
Biggio taking advantage of MMP....that was a 1st row Crawford shot fo-sure ! I think he thought it was going off the wall. Man, I hope he gets like 170+ hits this year so he can get 3000 next year...early. Oh, and it is time to see more Burke and less Wilson. DD
He's a little different than Roy... actually, Roy's curve is only great because of his phenominal fastball. If Roy were to have mediocre control/placement of his fastball, his curve would get hammered (if he was trying to throw it for a strike). Taylor's has that sharp 12-6 break that you see in Ben Sheets, Chris Carpenter, and used to see in Matt Morris. That pitch is so effective if you have decent control on the fastball, because you throw that pictch well... and hitters will either swing and miss, or just ground it weakly.
I don't even know why pitchers should bother pitching to ensberg anymore. Preston's providing worse protection than Lane did last year. Hopefully, he'll get out of this jam.
I think just for the hell of it, Preston should take his next at-bat from the other side of the plate.
Little early for that, but he's been very impressive. I just can't get over how well Wandy and Bucholtz have been pitching. We are going to need these guys to pitch like this if we go the year without Backe and Clemens.
Dear Mr Everett, Please hit a double. Mr Buchholz would like to pitch another inning. Sincerely, MiG Edit: Doesn't matter, Taylor stays in! WOO!!!
Gotta love the fans at MMP giving Taylor a standing ovation as he comes to bat in the 8th... Houston is slowly (but surely) catching on as a very knowledgeable baseball town.
