No way the Astros put Lance on the bullpen. They will not risk another major injury by messing with his routine. He can't stay healthy if he pitches without several days between appearances. He can't take up a bullpen spot on the playoff roster unless he can purchase at least twice in a 3-4 day span.
Smith, Neris and Brown are most rested in the BP following Verlander. I want Brown on the Post Season.
Going to the game tonight. Exciting to be on the bandwagon again, haha. Hopefully I don't fall off! Baseball is such a long season.
Is it really a question between him and Framber? Figured that's pretty well set in stone that Framber is #2.
What's been known about sinker ball pitchers is if they have too much rest and are overthrowing it, it will lose it's sink. 7 days
Probably not. Framber is an ace on nearly every team, but then again, so is 2021 McCullers. The somewhat interesting debate is whether you start McCullers at home (i.e game 2) due to his track record at MMP
We want Valdez pitching at home, especially if we are facing Toronto and all those big bats. Framber has the lowest home run rate in the majors. Junior is made to pitch on the road because he DGAF. That's how he rolls. G1 JV G2 Valdez G3 Junior G4 JV G5 Javier Dusty, there is no need to pitch anyone on short rest at all during this entire playoffs.
Was elated to hear that the Phillies clinched last night and before today's game. Now they can just let JV win his 18th in peace. Thank you.
This is probably game 1 of the ALDS lineup. With maybe Mancini in place of Diaz. But Diaz will get the first start imo
That is my inclination, but LMJ has been a big time playoff pitcher and has the better ERA. I wouldn't mind seeing it either way.
I would swap games 4 and 5. Javier has done enough for the team to have confidence in him. If they lose they can still roll JV out in game 5 but if they win he is ready for game 1 of ALCS. Assuming they are up 2-1. If they are down 1-2 then go with JV gotta win both anyway. If JV pitches game 4 he would not be able to go in ALCS until game 3. I would not feel that way if Javier was some average SP or coming off of a couple mediocre starts
Our offense has averaged 3.8 runs the last 11 games. Not good considering it’s inflated by a couple games we scored double digit runs. Need to be better than this going into the playoffs.
