McCullers is going to 100% be a starter. Sorry, people who want him to be in the pen. 1. He prefers the routine of knowing when your start is, and the schedule of rest, bullpen days, etc. in between, as opposed to not knowing when you'll be called. 2. The team didn't put him on a STARTER'S rehab schedule (building up his pitch counts and being stretched out to 90+) just to move to the pen 3. His stuff gets better later in the game (as you could see today) Verlander, Valdez, McCullers, and Javier will be the 4 starters. And that is that.
Yes -- and Yordan hasn't been as powerful of late. No one is really raking right now... except Altuve.
Yep, I'm taking McCullers over Urquidy/Garcia in the playoffs. His curveball/slider is filthy when he's in rhythm & he has been our ace last yr, he looks fully healthy & on point.
Poor Urquidy. Dude was solid this year. 1.16 WHIP. 13-8. He would be in any other teams playoff rotation (maybe not the dodgers).
Maybe some of the bench players can put up more of a fight at the plate lol. I would say the team is just playing out the string with nothing to play for but the offense has looked checked out at times all year. Just lets you know how dominant the pitching has been to have them at 104 wins.
