I wish someone would ask him about it. It definitely seems like it blocks his vision while swinging at times! IDK seems weird he keeps going with it
What Joe Joe said 100%. The top team shouldn't get a harder schedule just because a particular division (usually the AL/NL mid) is weak. That makes no sense.
If you don't like division winners getting consideration, than there should be no divisions. And I'm OK with that.
The Blue Jays are going to throw out some nasty pitching. Manoah and Gausman are legitimate aces right now and Stripling can get the job done too. The Jays #4-#5 starters have really struggled but if they can stick to their top 3 and they can beat anyone. Their pen has a few good relievers but lack depth. Offensively they are very dangerous, even with some guys having down years.
The only thing left this regular season I kinda wanna see is Phil Maton pitch to his brother Nick Maton.... and strike him out.
I hope Gausman continues to get BABIP'ed to death in the playoffs. He's been nasty by every other metric this year.
Saw Schwarber in the background of some of the game highlights. I'd just like to thank that guy for the funniest baseball clip i saw all year:
Nobody sitting down in either dugout. And after that hit, you saw about as close to a smile as you'll ever see from Phil.
My post from the Playoff roster thread: Very telling signs that both Dubon and Maton disappeared in the last several days. I fully expect neither is on the playoff roster. I think Meyers and Brown end up taking their places. 13 Pitchers Starters JV Valdez Junior Javier Long relief Garcia Brown Urquidy Bullpen Smith Abreu Neris Stanek Montero Pressly 13 Position Players C Maldonado 1B Gurriel 2B Altuve SS Pena 3B Bregman LF Diaz CF McCormick RF Tucker DH Alvarez Backup C Vazquez 1B/LF Mancini IF/OF Hensley CF Meyers I think the biggest questions are Hensley over Dubon and Brown over Maton. I think Smith is a lock because we traded for him and his ERA is actually under 3.00 as an Astro. I think they saw enough from Meyers to pull the trigger as he provides valuable late inning defensive replacement and as a pinch runner.
